About ZZC

I started sewing when I was 8 and attempted to tat at age 12.  I learned a great deal from my mother and my grandmother.  I have worked with each and every medium I could get my hands on, some designs over the years have been keepers and others were good experiments on what doesn’t work for me.

Garment construction was first in my line of sewing projects. From my early days my favorite stitch was the zig-zag stitch.

By the time I was ready to open my shop to the public I had fallen in love with Crazy Quilting and was actively teaching basket weaving to anyone who would sit still long enough for me to share with them. Since the shop was located at the corner of State Road 234 and North Troy Road, I put Zig-Zag together with corner and quilts and baskets and named the business Zig-Zag Corner Quilts & Baskets.

Over the years, besides quilting and fabrics, my love of thread, yarns and fibers influenced what I was carrying in the shop and gradually it grew into a popular source for tatting, bobbin lace, crochet and knitting supplies.

One of my Dad’s favorite saying is “the only thing constant is change”  so as my family changes, grows etc.  our business has changed, but the bottom line and vision of sharing my true love of the fiber arts has not.  I love this next chapter in our lives of being able to travel and teach and share my talents with those who want to learn, and balance the needs of my family.

Blessings,
